First off, I'm not someone that thinks that WCS are broken. I do however agree that since the powergrid and cpuboost of RMR WCS have become overused. I do also disagree with pirates using WCS, wich I have seen used to the fullest. As WCS are not really broken but to easy to fit now, they should not be changed to some of the following: 1. moved to highslot. that kills indies, helps the ravens and many BS's 2. Penalize combat. Some people do use one for NPCing. I'm thinking spider drones. 3. Limited to use. Again, anouther indy killer, and some ships equip lots for pure travel.
The great way to fix this problem would rest in the scramblers and disruptors themselves. Disruptors could be changed from -1 warp strenght to -1.5 with the extra .5 not having an effect unless coupled with anouther disruptor or scrambler. With two 20km distruptors you would have -3 Warp strengh. Scramblers being the same way, changed from -2 to -2.5. One scrambler and one disruptor being -4.
One great reason this is easily fair. Most pvp ships are armor tanked, very limited midslots for scramblers. But with the slight extra boost, it helps when 2 scramblers are being used. Just seems right that if one ship has two scramblers on it then it should not be able to get away. At the same time, if someone fits 5+ scramblers even if they fight that way, they should be able to warp away. A setup like that will never kill anything as much as half it's size.
One other thing that I would really agree with though is that people should not be out attacking other people while packing WCSs. It does have an unfair advantage in some aspects. If a ship has WCSs on, then it should not be able to engage in aggresive acts toward anouther player unless that player's ship also has WCSs equipped. Therefore all those pretendapirates that pack stabs can go fight other pretendapirates that pack stabs and leave the rest of us to fight like big men. An exception to this would have to be when at war with anouther corp. Just seems right that there be no restrictions on War. ---"What's in your wallet?"--- |
